Jeffrey Lake is a smaller limestone-based lake with deep crystal clear waters, making it one of the clearest lakes in our area. This cottage will fill all of your family vacation wish list. Set higher above the lake, this two-story chalet style cottage with open concept living area has various sleeping options including a separate bunkie just steps away. Both of the deck levels offer great views and the mature hardwood trees offer shade and give the property a good level of privacy you are looking for.
Enter the back door into the cozy kitchen which is well-equipped for family meals. There is a dining table for indoor meals, or you may want to eat out at the patio table on the upper deck. The livingroom area has a fireplace, which is nice to cozy up near on a cool fall evening. There is unlimited wifi here for your enjoyment! For a rainy day or family movie night, the TV is mounted above the fireplace, with Satellite, VCR and a DVD player. Stairs lead up from the livingroom to the sleeping loft where you will find a Double bed and 2 Single beds. The owners have provided a portable privacy screen, to use in this area. Back down on the main level, and just off the back entrance, is the 3-pc bathroom with shower. For your comfort, there is also air conditioning throughout the cottage.
Stairs lead from the living area down to the newly added walk-out basement level where the two bedrooms are located - each has a Queen bed. A second bathroom is located here as well.
For more sleeping options, there is also a separate Bunkie just steps from the main cottage. Inside the Bunkie is the second TV (with satellite), a small table and chairs and a Queen bed. There is a portable heater if needed for September.
Tied between the trees, a hammock beckons you to take some time to relax and enjoy the sound of the birds, while you catch up on a little R and R. Off to one side of the cottage is a large stone fire pit, where the family can gather around to catch up on all the daily activities and roast a few marshmallows.
The well-built stairs (with a few landings), lead down to the shoreline. A ladder near the dock gives you easy access into the water. The bottom of the lake is sandy here, great for the little ones to splash around and enjoy, and it does get deeper out past the end of the dock. The owner also told me that the fishing is good right off the end of the dock - so bring along your fishing pole!
If you are planning on having a campfire outside, you should bring your own wood. If you and your family enjoy ATVing, this cottage has easy access to the extensive area trails.
Waterfront:
Swimming here is shallow for the little ones, with easy entry off the ladder. The further out you go the softer the bottom gets, however it does get deeper as you go out past the end of the dock. Explore the lake with the canoe, kayak, rowboat and paddleboat that are provided here.
There is no public boat launch on this lake so if you want to bring a boat, this is not the lake for you.
