Very nice privacy here and good frontage on beautiful Papineau Lake. This is the perfect cottage for the young family as it has even a high chair and a travel crib for the little one. There is a screened gazebo that offers a very nice view of the lake and protection from the sun if you've had too much. Also across the front of the cottage is a good deck and some patio furniture. You have a good view from here as well as the hammock that is located at the waters edge.

The cottage itself has 3 bedrooms and so it will hold 6 very nicely. There is one 3 pc bathroom with a shower. The kitchen and dining area are combined so you are not left on your own while cooking! The living room is cozy and that of course is where the TV is (it has satellite as well). There is a propane BBQ and a good firepit on the smooth rock down by the water. You are more than welcome to pick up any dead fall to help with the fires for roasting marshmallows. There is a dock at the shoreline. An outdoor shower at the back of the cottage, to rinse off from the lake.

Please do not cut down the live trees, but you may help yourself to the dead fall. Canoe is older, to be used at renter's discretion.

Shoreline is rocky, but you step in to smooth flat rock, and then bottom is mostly sandy. Past the end of the dock it drops off to deeper swimming.

AREA INFORMATION:
This cottage is about 30 minutes from the town of Bancroft and about the same distance from Barry's Bay. They both offer good shopping! However you are only 10 minutes from the small community of Maynooth and there is a good variety store there for your milk and bread needs. There is also a liquor store and some very nice antique, art, craft etc stores there as well! This lake is known for its sandy bottom and beaches. There is also a great public beach on this lake!

Loved listening to loons at this peaceful lakefront retreat

"We were looking for a traditional cottage feel in a natural setting, this was perfect! There were loons, ducks, herons and bald eagles doing regular swim or fly bys, plus at least two dozen different birds in the trees on the property. This was our second stay at this cottage. The cottage has all the essentials, the beds were extremely comfortable and the clothes/towel drying rack in the big bathroom is an appreciated extra touch. We brought our own kayaks so had some great paddles from the dock, plus went up to the very peaceful and nearby Bark Lake. We had fun playing the minigolf and cornhole games. You don't hear any highway traffic, although we did see a float plane land on the lake. This is a great spot for a laid back vacation!
