Welcome to a beautiful and spacious cottage on this pristine lake, located just a few minutes from the town of Bancroft. The cottage is a wonderful base from which to head out and tour the many different sights in and shops in and around Bancroft....although most will want to stay right there at the cottage. The cottage is open, clean and bright. Walk in to a very open concept living space, with the kitchen to your right, and a sunken livingroom ahead of you, and the dining space overlooking the lake. The kitchen is well laid out with a large island that doubles as a breakfast bar. The large dining table will seat up to 11 people, and is surrounded by large windows which offer a great view of the bay. If you need extra seating, there is also a 6 foot folding table with extra chairs stored in the laundry room closet. You also have access to the 2 deck areas from here, and the one to the right will have a good propane BBQ and patio set for meals outside.

The livingroom offers ample space for the whole family on those rainy days. Satellite TV is available, as well as a DVD player, and a VCR for movies (there is a selection here). There are also some board games for the family or books for your quiet time. For those who like to stay connected - the owners have installed complimentary Wi-Fi service.
Located on the main floor is full 4 piece bathroom, a utility room with washer and dryer, and the large master bedroom with a King sized bed. A large 2-sided field-stone fireplace is shared between the livingroom and master bedroom for those romantic fall evenings. Downstairs you will find the 2 other bedrooms, which have 2 Queen sized beds in each. There is also a 3 piece bathroom with a shower, located on the lower level, plus patio doors allow you to walk out to the front lawn and waterfront from here.

Outside, the garden is carefully manicured, with stone steps leading down to the firepit, horseshoe pits and waterfront. A lower patio is the perfect place to relax in the shade with a great view of the lake. The waterfront allows a shallow walk-in entry, and drops of to over 10 ft deep at the end of the dock. There are lots of deck chairs and loungers to relax on. If you like nature, there are a few places on this lake where there is more solitude and you will often see and hear ducks, geese, a beaver and this lake is famous for having a nesting pair of loons returning each year! Deer also frequent the road in to this cottage so keep watch for them!

SPECIAL COMMENTS:
Smoking is outside ONLY here. Please take shoes off inside at front door as there are beige carpets throughout. Pets NOT allowed as owner has allergies. Driveway only holds about 3-4 vehicles. Also please respect the neighbours and keep noise levels down, as sound does carry over the water.

WATERFRONT:
Sandy, shallow walk-in entry from shore, which drops off quickly to over 10 ft deep at the end of the dock. Canoe, kayak and paddleboat here for you to explore the lake!

LAKE INFORMATION:
Considered one of the cleanest lakes in Ontario; Bay Lake is a limestone-based lake which means the water is clear and allows you to see down 10-15 feet on a sunny day. Fed by natural springs, bordered by a few natural wetlands, this lake is home to a large variey of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish. There are a few places on this lake where there is more solitude and you will often see and hear ducks, geese, a beaver, turtles - plus this lake is famous for having a nesting pair of loons returning each year! (Keep a distance so you don't stress them). Deer also frequent the road to this cottage, so keep watch for them.

AREA INFORMATION: This cottage is located just 10 minutes from the town of Bancroft. The town has many things to offer, including rockhounding - Bancroft is known as the 'Mineral Capital of Canada' and has the largest variety of rocks and minerals in Canada, or some argue - the world! The Rockhoud Gemboree held the long weekend in August draws collectors from all over the world. The QHCNorthHastings hospital in Bancroft has a small emergency department and is about 11 minutes from this cottage. We have 2 grocery stores (No Frills and Foodland) and many unique gift and specialty stores. There is a good variety of Family restuarants and fast food to choose from - oh yes and 2 Tim Hortons' also. Enjoy a variety of hiking trails and a scenic lookout right in Bancroft!
